Mar. 31st, 2005 @ 09:32 am It's just My Nature to Wonder About Curves
Imagine that you had a parabolic mirror, and sliced it into many thin rings, then laid those rings on a flat surface. The focus would become stretched, like a beam of light, but it would have a fairly sharp beginning and end.

Remind anyone of the beam from a light saber?

Yeah I'm Old, I saw Star Wars in a Theater, LOL.

If you had the still unnamed surface laying on a coffee table, and you had one of those nifty Wisp room fresheners that sends out a puff of smoke every few seconds, and set it so the smoke passed through the column of light, that would look pretty nifty sitting next to a vintage lava lamp.

I saw "ET" at a Drive-In.

My FIRST Drive-In movie was "Help" with the Beatles. (of course)

It was just released, too.

I saw Fritz the Cat at a Drive In

When we were kids, I had made a pa type system. A speaker in a durable metal box and a 50 foot wire with a microphone at the other end.

The drive in had a ravine along one side that faced the screen. We'd walk there, and hide in the ravine, they'd walk around sometimes with a flashlight looking for people sneaking in, and the light would go over our heads. When they left, I'd run up and duct tape my microphone to one of the speakkers on the poles, no radio set ups then, and we'd have a good view and sound.

Great fun when your 12!

I saw it in a theatre with my Great Dane Zo

He was only a few months old, I could still pick him up so since I had no babysitter for him, I snuck him in under my coat.

He just sat there and watched to from the seat next to me.
