This morning during the daily walk the pack always gets in the woods, the poodle pup is running around with a stick in it's mouth. Apparently the dog is a rare Poodle Retriever.

After a few minutes I notice the other dogs are suddenly trying to get the stick, and I find the stick is actually a dead pygmy rattlesnake.

I won't be telling the wife this story.

*twitch* At least it was dead when she got ahold of it.

Which is far better than it being alive, and getting ahold of *her*.

I wonder if they get chewy like beef jerky when they're dead...must be yummy for woofs!

Deceased Rattlers can still Bite

I'm sure they're chewy when properly aged, but the design of a snakes delivery system is basically a living hypodermic. I'm sure it was dead long enough for the venom to deteriorate, but it isn't a habit I want to teach the pup, LOL.

Yes, it would make a great dog chew toy, but that was the same type of snake that bit my finger and sent me to ICU for four days, LOL.

I don't think my dog's wouldfair so well.
