Thanks for not killing it.
My experience with Coral Snakes is that you'd practically have to force it to bite you.

I can just imagine how many mice that thing eats.

And you're right the species is extremely docile in most cases you could pick them up and hold them in your hand but it is a very deadly venom so I'd never advise doing that.

It was so early in the day and cool I was surprised how pumped up this one was. If you look on the snake picker upper it was covered in venom and the thing was moving through the grass fast.

Of course being in barefeet perhaps it just seemed like it was moving quick LOL.
