I knocked the mortor from the pile of old block I had in the back and stacked them three high on top of the base I started for the dog house. I have rebar stuck in the concrete at each corner and next to the opening for the door and I used an old leaf spring I found to lay in the lentil that forms the top of the doorway.

There is a reason I seldom throw things away...

I mixed 4 wheelbarrows of sand and portland cement and filled the block almost to the top all around. Tomorrow I'll pour some inside and smooth the floor up and get it sloped so I can hose it out, and put a roof on the thing and they should be safe in any storm that comes up, plus it will stay warm on cold nights and cool on hotdays being that its practically a cave, and I got rid of a lot of debris in the process.
