Aug. 25th, 2006 @ 06:54 am A Mile of Wire
And still I needed more...

I'm still putting in recepticles and finding mystery wires.

The house has two circuits that are for the generator in case we ever have a prolonged power outage. It runs the fridge, microwave, enough lights to navigate the house, and an outlet for a window airconditioner in the master bedroom.

I thought about getting red outlets for them but I figured the wife would Veto that one.

Anyway I forgot to run the very first length of wire so I spent half of yesterday crawling around in the attic drilling holes and trying to pull wires through the walls. I've had to do this in all the house's we remodeled to bring the wiring up to code so I've had some practice fortunately.

Another wire I forgot to Run

A plumber's snake works pretty well for fishing.

The finding of the cables is partialy why we took lots of pictures during our (my parents) house construction. We knew where all the underslab plumbing went and where all the services ended up in the walls. Helped no end. Not that it helps you now.

Unfortunately I didn't do a very good job of labeling them...

You could mark the outlets with something subtle, like a small black lightning bolt. (Dremel + shiny black paint?)
