It's been really dry around here.

The lake looks like it is down about ten inches.

The things I have the most trouble remembering are timelines, not the order just when.

Things from a week ago get blurred into things from further in my past, so I don't actually know how long we've been without rain but I do know I've been running around for sometime now moving sprinklers around to keep the new grass growing, and half the everglades seem to be on fire, so rain from Hurricane Alberto would be a good thing, in moderation.

I've been trying to grow this vine now for about five years.

It is some flowering thing that won't go crazy and kill the tree and it never has really grown but it never dies either. I planted it just when I was starting on the house, and I wasn't sure about the final grade but I knew I couldn't move the tree very far. I used a hose and jetted a hole between it's roots and stuck the vine in thinking it would do pretty well but it usually only grows five or six foot long by the end of the summer.

I keep tieing strings to it to train it around the tree instead of on the ground in hopes it would make it to the branches and get a good grip.

I started thinking it might just be starved for water, so I grabbed the hose again and made a hole near its roots about a foot down and stuck a piece of pipe in it.

Everyday while on my watering expedition I fill the bucket up and the water siphon through a small tube into the hole down to the roots. It's grown about two feet since I started ??? (a week?) ago so we'll see.

It takes a few hours to drain the bucket and I've been filling it up twice a day.

Nurse! Get that Vine an IV Drip STAT!

Tropical Storms are pretty good at recharging things.

The news is real vauge about whether it will hit here or not.
