I'll bet you that it's a straight 6 Ford F-series right? Those are indestructible. The other unkillable ford engine is the 2.3 that's found in 1979-93 Mustangs and 1982-97 Rangers. Mine has around 200,000 miles on it.

You can just about run those motors without oil and they keep going.

I owned a 1991 Ford F150 with a 6 and a manual tranny. Ran it WITHOUT oil or prestone for almost a 100 miles, then noticed that it was working funky when I was doing drag races on backroads with friends. When I opened the hood the engine had almost caught fire. Heh. It was seized from the heat but we managed to unstick it by putting it in first gear and pulling it down the road. Then I just dumped a bunch of oil in it and it was fine to go again. Tough engines.
