The police got an accident report done for when the Horse and Carriage ran into me December 17th.

Maybe my wife will let me back in the house now!

I've just about finished the wiring in the new house then I have some extra Hurricane precautions to finish.

I am going to run Bolts from the foundation through all the walls, including interior to the roof trusses. This is beyond code but seriously I don't know why people don't just do this on their own if they live in Hurricane country. I have turned most of the interior walls into sheer walls to.

This won't make the house Hurricane Proof, but it will go a long way to letting the structure itself remain intact in a bad storm, and only added about $5000 to the cost of building the house. My wife will of course scoff at my use of the word only, but if you live here you know the panic a storm can cause and the contents of the house are generally harder to replace than the house itself, as far as personal items are concerned.

The bottom level being mostly under ground should safely weather any storm even if the top two floors are flattened.

In fact the radio for a long time was running adds for something from the state that said there were but the url they kept giving was a 404.

I called the station and told them it was a bad url but they never fixed the add.

I think I qualify if there is one, don't you?

How's New York? Cold? Going to see any shows on Broadway?

You were run over by a horse drawn carriage??

I know of something that would most definitely make your home hurricane proof...

Build it somewhere else you mean? LOL.

Yeah, I was parked on the Circle in town and the horse and carriage plowed into me.

It's a few posts down...

Somehow I missed it. The groups I'm in tend to all decide to post at the same time. Will go back and read about that... sounds interesting. Glad you're okay.
