Got me Big Time

Yesterday I just ran out of energy and lay down around two for a "nap", and woke up around nine had dinner and fell asleep before Cold Case was over...

I'm just too old to work non stop LOL but I got the head board finished I just need to lag bolt it to the studs in the wall.

Common sense hit me halfway through and I figured I'd better try the winch so I bolted it down and fired it up.

It sounded like a dozer was driving through the house...

I quickly realized the wife would freak and went with a simple rope system and get about a nine or ten to one ratio so pull five foot of rope to slide her six inches no heavy straining and down the road I won't need someone to stay nights after the surgery.

Plan ahead.

I have been looking back on this stuff - you do a really good job of actually creating what you thing about. This head board is great for changes and transfers. Has your wife's dr written a script for an electric bed that will raise and lower. Husband's aunt is in dire need of back surgery and pulling the draw sheet alone is killin her spine - woulld you think about sending the plans for this if it works? I have alot of extra material and time on my hands - I may try to modify a draw sheet with cabineer clips. Seriously - I used to do this stuff for a living - you should look at or contact rj cooper - http://www.rjcooper.com/site-map/index.html#story.

I took a craftmatic adjustable and made it work with micro switches so she can push the buttons with the lightest touch.

Look here for plans for other stuff, http://www.instructables.com/member/Senseless/ especially the side board if he is unstable standing and I'll send you instructions on the head board but eventually I'll put them on the DIY site plus how I modified the power chair.

There are also instructions on how I made the sucken shower with heated floors that doesn't have a lip so we can wheel her in with no bumps.

Be well.

Cabineer clips is exactly what I am using. My sewing machine has disspeared but the next thing I will do is sew large draw sheets from single top sheets that are all over Goodwill, and sew some steel rings in the top side for the clips to attach to and not rip the fabric. You can get solid rings at any hardware store and if you find them in stainless and sew around them tight so they don't pop out they should go through the laundry just fine.
